About Me

HELLO,

I'M HARPREET.

I'm a Londoner living in Calgary, a storyteller who brings hope through words. I say words on stage sometimes, too, but not as often as I should. I'm attracted to authenticity, to the light in others, to open hearts. I enjoy baking and singing with my husband on long car rides. I like sleeping in the sun, crying to sad songs, and hosting my loved ones. I'm stepping into myself, learning to unlearn feelings of inadequacy, self-doubt, and narratives that don't serve me.

I'm evolving and embracing my journey of servitude through heart work. As I grow, so does what I offer the world. Here, you will find wall art of my love notes and affirmations advocating self-love and self-confidence. This practice is close to my heart and is part of my journey to live authentically, grounded in cultivating self-belief, self-confidence, and compassion. I hope they find a home in your home.

THE PROJECT: LOVE NOTES

HOW IT BEGAN

As an artist, working in community engagement inspired me to found the Love Notes project in 2017, with the mission of encouraging positivity and healing through art. The hope is to empower people to connect with their inner strength, change the narrative and to practice love as a daily mantra. To help people recognize their untapped inner strength, resilience, and transformation through the power of artistic expression. I aspire to create safer spaces for people to gather, create and connect with one another around the most powerful human quality – love.

As the proud founder, curator, and host of Love Notes, I gather artists from across disciplines to create a performative love note. You will find me sharing poetry at these events. Since its inception in 2017, I have collaborated with arts organizations such as Arts Commons to bring Love Notes to their Amplify Cabaret Series, Moonlight Market, and cSpace to bring Love Notes to communities virtually and in person.

TESTIMONIALS

Harpreet is an innovative artist and inventive producer who can work well with musicians, dancers, and visual artists in a friendly manner that accommodates originality and idiosyncrasies in a productive way towards a well-defined and thoughtfully planned end result. I look forward to working on more artistic ventures with Harpreet!

It was a great pleasure and an exhilarating experience to work with Harpreet on Love Notes. I have worked on several musical and theatrical projects and themes over nearly five decades, but none comes close to Love Notes in terms of ideas, planning, complexity, and finesse in realization'.

Love Notes is an incredibly unique and moving experience. At the first one we attended, my boyfriend and I were completely blown away by the talent, energy, and programming; at the second Love Notes, tears (the good kind!) were flowing the entire time. Harpreet's vision, artistry, and desire to build community and promote healing through the arts is SO needed and appreciated. Do NOT miss this event'.

- Robyn Hounjet, Founder and CEO of Studio Co.Creative

The world needs more love, and Love Notes is a beacon of hope, trying in its own way to make this world a much better place through a universal language understood through art. It is an incredible platform where artists can come together from all walks of life to share their story'.
